The path of virtue is rarely the path of ease

Summary

I practice Stoic philosophy and aim to live a simple, purposeful life. I don't like to make things harder than they need to be, but its really been a long journey to get me here. From starting as a digital marketer to pivoting into software programming, I've garnered diverse experiences that have made my learning and growth journey both dynamic and fulfilling.

My early years were filled with questions about passion and true calling, and moments of self-doubt — social media was too noisy for me — while I ran social media campaigns to get our products noticed. However, working on technical projects like automation tools and web application to boost our leads generation made me realize my true path. I reached a point where I decided to fully dedicate my career to programming.

Pursuing a master's degree gave me the time and freedom to dive deep into fields like full-stack development, cloud computing, deep learning, web3. These immersive experiences were both challenging and fulfilling.

Over the summer, I worked as a Java developer at Hirain Technology in Beijing, where I developed an automation UI test framework for industry software. I was responsible for building a plugin project from scratch within the Eclipse RCP framework, which involved designing its architecture, implementing all the concrete classes, and refactoring existing codebase to improve efficiency. This comprehensive project provided me with deep experience in both software design and implementation.

Currently, I'm involved in two roles focused on cutting-edge AI technology. I am collaborating with a startup on developing a demo that leverages computer vision and LLMs to assist a Chinese Basketball Association team with sports analytics, training and game strategy. At the same time, I serve as a teaching assistant for the course "Advanced Topics on LLMs" where I help students navigate the latest advancements in AI.

I've finally caught up with the latest technologies in the software world that I dreamed of working on several years ago. It's been quite a journey, and my quest for learning and growing continues!
